Hi, I'm
Jayden Yiu
Full-stack developer in Markham, Ontario, building a commercial grade website builder and leading programming on two robotics teams.
About
I'm a high school student in Markham, Ontario. I work across the stack, comfortable with Spring, Java, Node.js, Go, React, React Native, Next.js, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Docker.
Right now I'm leading and building site-builder, a website builder project, alongside a team of four. Outside of that, I'm the programming exec on two robotics teams: FRC 7902 and VEX 3652, where I focus on hardware control robot code.
I'm fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and I enjoy working on projects that mix software engineering with hardware and real-time systems, as well as making full-stack applications.
Featured Project

site-builder
A full-stack website builder being built with a team of four, currently in active development. This website builder allows backend building, data schemas and allows exported projects to be ran on your computer. Node.js/TypeScript monorepo (Turborepo + pnpm) with three Express microservices: api, backend-builder, and export-svc, deployed on AWS infrastructure spanning ECS Fargate, RDS PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, Cognito, and Stripe. Data layer built on Prisma and Zod, tested with Vitest.

Leading onboarding and training for the programming subteam on an FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) team.
- Led onboarding sessions for new team members, covering software installation and core skills such as WPILib, Git, GitHub, and Java
- Had a major part in making, improving, and reviewing training materials and lesson plans for a more streamlined onboarding process
- Collaborated with other subdivisions to integrate software with robot hardware
Executive of Programming
May 2026 – Present · 5 mosVEX Team 3652 — UHS Robotics
Leading the programming effort and mentoring new members on UHS's VEX Robotics Competition team.
- Taught new members how to use development tools, including Git/GitHub and the team's programming environment
- Mentored new members in C++ programming fundamentals and VEX-specific coding
- Built an autonomous chooser for the robot, allowing selection of autonomous routines right before matches
